Michael Upshall of ProBuilt by Michael Upshall is a master carpenter at heart, who naturally progressed into a renovator and builder and is renowned in the construction industry. His career spans over 30 years and his collection of awards and recognitions are impressive. He was the first two-time award winner of the BILD “Renovator of the Year” (2002 _ 2006).

Renovating your home stems from the dream of attaining that “designer look”. Getting from conceptual design to handing you the keys to your renovated home may seem a daunting task, but the vision to any dream project is keeping focused on the expert design, controlled budgeting, constant communications through documentation as well as keeping it on schedule. For Michael, systems and procedures are what drives his business of renovation and custom home projects that start from $250,000 and exceed well over a million.

Michael was chosen three years in a row to design and build the Dream Home at Toronto's 2007, 2008 and 2009 National Home Shows. Michael returns to head the hand-picked design and build team for the 2012 Dream Home: R-House, which will promote sustainable luxury and revolutionary home building technology with the latest decor ideas in an ultra-modern 3600 square foot energy efficient home.

As you'll never stop dreaming, he'll never stop building. Michael shares some of his renovation secrets on his Facebook page at ‘ProBuilt by Michael Upshall'.

Craig Crane and Robert Mitchell established DAC architecture on 1989 and went on to design and construct award winning architecture, interior design, and urbanism. They have played a major role in the design of over 200 private and public sector projects. Their design philosophy is rooted in site and context with each expression responding to local environs and the specificities of the building program.

With a passion for exploring how environmental responsibility can be taken beyond awareness and into action, Craig formed studio c2 in 2006. The studio’s mission is to create healthy life-enhancing buildings with the best of the industry in a collaborative setting. The Dream Home R-House is an expression of Craig’s vision of sustainability and modern design. Its green vocabulary elucidates 5 sustainable principles: wise land use, a judicious approach to the earth’s resources, high indoor air quality, attunement to the sun, and high-performance energy efficiency.

He is also a professor at Humber College’s School of Applied Arts and Technology and is leading the department’s new learn-by-doing studio experiences. These unique educational labs are allied with industry partners in the preparation of leading edge green building professionals through direct industry engagement, project based learning, and hands-on experiences that extend education beyond paper.  The Dream Home 2012 project is an example of one of the labs in action.

Craig took the lead role on the architectural and interior design of the Dream Home R-House.
Robert provided support for the project for building code and permit related matters.
